Behavioral Expectations & District K-6 Student Handbook

Statement of Philosophy

At McCarthy-Towne, the students, parents, volunteers, and faculty, using the tenets and philosophy of the Responsive Classroom, work together to foster a community where everyone, adults included, feel safe and respected in their classrooms, throughout the building, and on the buses.

Our Expectations
  • Be safe.
  • Be kind and respectful.
  • Be responsible.
Logical Consequences

Adults will be responsible for creating logical consequences to help students learn from their mistakes. In some cases, the administration will collaborate with the teachers to assist with difficult situations.
